Jockey Club Issues Update on PPs With Vets' List Data

The Jockey Club has continued its investigation into misuse of the vets' list data.

As a follow up to our earlier statement, The Jockey Club has continued its investigation into misuse of the vet's list information that is provided to racetracks and regulators to conduct their official duties.

We have confirmed that there has been no unauthorized access to or breach of the InCompass Track Manager system. Over the past week, our information technology team has conducted a thorough and rigorous review of the InCompass system by analyzing our multi-layer security controls, monitoring systems, and auditing our user authentication, content access, and HISA API integration. Our review identified no security detections or endpoint security issues throughout our layered security controls, which included intrusion prevention system, web access firewall, vulnerability scanning, endpoint protection service, and 24x7 security operation center monitoring.

Following multiple discussions with HISA and stakeholders across the industry, we are taking additional steps to restrict access to veterinarians' list information and limit the amount of data available to track users, reducing the risk of misuse.

While certain racing officials, regulatory veterinarians, and other key personnel must have access to information that helps ensure the integrity of the sport and the welfare and safety of our equine and human athletes, we understand that fans and bettors expect a level playing field, and we remain committed to upholding that standard.

We will continue to update the industry as these enhancements are implemented and will work with data providers to determine what information should be made publicly available in a way that promotes transparency while protecting the integrity of the sport and the welfare of its participants.
