Tom's d'Etat has joined the stallion roster at Adcock's Red River Farm, the Louisiana farm announced Feb. 12. He stands for a private fee.
Tom's d'Etat retired from racing at the end of 2020 following a five-season career and joined the stallion lineup in 2021 at WinStar Farm in Kentucky. He stood for $5,000 there in 2025.
Victorious in 11 of 20 starts with earnings of more than $1.7 million for G M B Racing and trainer Al Stall Jr., Tom's d'Etat notched signature wins in taking the 2019 Clark Stakes (G1) and the 2020 Stephen Foster Stakes (G2), both at Churchill Downs. In the latter race, he rolled by 4 1/4 lengths and ran 1 1/8 miles in 1:47.30.
The 13-year-old son of Smart Strike is out of the Giant's Causeway mare Julia Tuttle, hailing from the female family of Candy Ride .
In 2025, Tom's d'Etat ranked 17th among second-crop sires in North America. He has been represented by 10 stakes horses and has 11% stakes performers from starters. More than 50% of his 2025 starters were winners. His son, Take Charge Tom, won the Canadian Derby (G3) and Mine That Bird Derby last year.
G M B Racing said in a statement that they are thrilled to stand Tom's d'Etat at Red River Farms, and would continue supporting Tom's d'Etat with mares from their broodmare band.
