The first reported foal by Hill 'n' Dale at Xalapa's Arabian Knight arrived Jan. 1 at Hill 'n' Dale Canada, according to farm.
Hill 'n' Dale Farms and Mario Serrani bred the chestnut filly out of Among the Roses, a winning daughter of Curlin and from the female family of grade 1-placed, graded stakes winners Diversy Harbor, Keertana, and Snow Top Mountain.
Arabian Knight, bred in Kentucky by Corser Thoroughbreds, was highly regarded at 2, when he topped the 2022 Ocala Breeders' Sales Spring 2-Year-Olds in Training Sale at $2.3 million. Agent Gary Young bought the son of Uncle Mo for Zedan Racing Stables out the Top Line Sales consignment.
At the track, Arabian Knight won his racing debut by 7 1/4 lengths in his only start at 2. He did not miss a beat transitioning into this 3-year-old campaign, which he launched by winning the Southwest Stakes (G3) by 5 1/2 lengths. With trainer Tim Yakteen early in 2023, Arabian Knight never progressed down the Kentucky Derby (G1) trail because the trainer felt he needed time to develop.
Yakteen's decision was rewarded with a good third in the Haskell Stakes (G1) and a hard-fought victory in the Pacific Classic Stakes (G1), both with trainer Bob Baffert. Arabian Knight retired with a 3-0-1 record from six starts and earned $1,562,275.
Arabian Knight retired to stud at Hill 'n' Dale in Kentucky, where he attracted 273 mares in his first book. He stands for $30,000.
