Fasig-Tipton has rescheduled the final under tack show for its Midlantic May 2-Year-Olds in Training Sale to May 18 and condensed the originally scheduled two-day sale into one session May 20.

Fasig-Tipton sent out the following statement Thursday afternoon:

"Following more rain this afternoon, Fasig-Tipton representatives met with the Maryland State Fairgrounds racetrack superintendent who had evaluated the racetrack. Due to the unprecedented amount of moisture over recent days, the racetrack will require additional time to dry out in order to provide the safest conditions possible to breeze."

The forecast in Timonium calls for a 60% chance of rain May 16 with scattered thunderstorms throughout the morning. Currently, there is little to no rain in the forecast for May 17-18.

The remainder of the under tack show has been postponed until Sunday beginning at 8 a.m. EST. The entire sale will now be conducted in one session Tuesday beginning at 10 a.m. ET at the Maryland State Fairgrounds, instead of Monday and Tuesday as originally scheduled.

Four juveniles worked an eighth-mile in :10 1/5 May 15 during an abbreviated under tack show. Only 75 2-year-olds breezed during the session, which again was conducted over a wet track.

Thursday's fastest eighth-mile time of :10 1/5 matched the fastest eighth-mile clocked by seven juveniles during Wednesday's opening under tack show session.

Two fillies and two colts went in :10 1/5 Thursday, that included the following:

  • Hip 219: a Kentucky-bred filly consigned by Pike Racing at Highlander. She is by first-crop sire Yaupon  out of the Salt Lake mare Lake Como. A $90,000 purchase by Susan Moulton at last year's Fasig-Tipton Kentucky July Sale, the filly is a half sibling to Cosmo Charlie (Stay Thirsty), a stakes winner and graded stakes-placed in the United Arab Emirates, as well as the stakes-placed Aliana (Majestic Warrior).
  • Hip 258: a Kentucky-bred colt consigned by Pike Racing at Highlander. The colt is by Munnings  out of the stakes-placed Mineshaft mare Minewander and is a full sibling to Landeskog, runner-up in the 2019 Gallant Bob Stakes (G2) at Parx Racing.
  • Hip 334: a colt bred in Kentucky by Spendthrift Farm and consigned by Kings Equine. Hip 334 is by six-time leading North American sire Into Mischief  and out of the stakes-winning Speightstown mare Quick Flip. The colt is a half sibling to four black-type runners, including grade 2 winner, grade 1-placed Following Sea (Runhappy ).
  • Hip 368: a Kentucky-bred filly consigned by Ciaran Dunne's Wavertree Stables. Havertz Stables procured the Girvin  filly for $240,000 at the 2024 Keeneland September Yearling Sale. Hip 368 is out of the Broken Vow mare Scarlet Dixie, the dam of two winners from two to race.
