Grade 1 winner Super Stock was represented by his first reported foal, announced by Leadem Farm on social media Feb. 7. Super Stock stands at the Leola, Ark., farm for a fee of $2,500 in 2025.
The colt is out of the 11-year-old Shackleford mare Sprinkle Time, a three-time winner. Sprinkle Time is a half sister to multiple stakes winners Justalittlesmoke and Portales as well as listed stakes-placed Hazy Command.
Sprinkle Time was a $130,000 purchase at the 2015 Keeneland September Yearling Sale by Keith Asmussen, father of Hall of Fame trainer Steve Asmussen, and Erv Woolsey. The pair also purchased Super Stock for $70,000 at the 2019 Keeneland September Yearling Sale and raced him through a 20-start career that brought a record of 4-4-3 for earnings of $1,279,077.
Winner of the Texas Thoroughbred Futurity at 2, Super Stock finished third in both the Iroquois Stakes (G3) and Breeders' Futurity (G1) while running second in the listed Street Sense Overnight Stakes.
At 3, Super Stock conquered the 2021 Arkansas Derby (G1) and was 15th in the Kentucky Derby (G1). Later that season, he won the Ellis Park Derby and Zia Park Derby and was third in the Oklahoma Derby (G3).
Woolsey died in March 2024. The following June, Keith Asmussen bought back Sprinkle Time for $4,000 during the Fasig-Tipton Digital Selected Sale.
