Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1) winner Immersive will be given some time off due to bone bruising, according to a Jan. 9 press release from her owner/breeder Godolphin.
The undefeated daughter of Nyquist , who also won the Spinaway (G1) and Alcibiades (G1) stakes, will likely be off until summer. She was the top Kentucky Oaks (G1) contender with 40 points on the Road to the Kentucky Oaks leaderboard.
Godolphin's director of bloodstock, Michael Banahan, said, "(Trainer) Brad (Cox) wasn't happy with the way she was moving so she came home for diagnostics that confirmed the issue. While obviously unfortunate, she had a flawless 2-year-old season and we will give her the time she needs and look forward to seeing her back in the summer."
The leading candidate for Eclipse champion 2-year-old filly of 2024, Immersive was bred by Godolphin and is out of their homebred Bernardini mare Gap Year. The filly's achievements helped Godolphin top the 2024 standings as both leading owner and leading individual breeder by earnings in North America for the fourth consecutive year.
Immersive had an incredible 2024 season, with four wins, three of them coming in grade 1 races including a commanding 4 1/2-length victory in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies, earning $1,622,700. She was her sire's chief earner in the last year, placing Nyquist second on the 2024 leading 2-year-old sire list behind Into Mischief .
