The first reported foal by Claiborne Farm's grade 1 winner Bright Future was born Feb. 17 at the Paris, Ky., farm.
Bred by owner/breeder Deborah Hancock, the flashy chestnut colt is out of Tale of the Cat winner Miss Tattle Tale, whose first four foals are all winners. Miss Tattle Tale is a half sister to stakes winner and graded stakes producer Rapid Racer (Forest Wildcat). Her immediate family also produced grade 1-placed, grade 2 winner Runway Model, who is the dam of multiple grade 1 winner and sire McKinzie .

Bright Future is a 7-year-old son of Curlin who sold for $350,000 at the 2020 Keeneland September Yearling Sale to West Bloodstock, as agent for Repole Stables and St Elias Stable. He won at first asking in 2022 at 3 with trainer Todd Pletcher and went on to win the Jockey Club Gold Cup Stakes (G1) at 4 and Salvator Mile Stakes (G3) at 5. He retired with a 5-0-2 record from 11 starts and earned $947,940.
Out of the graded-placed stakes winner Sophia's Song (Bellamy Road), Bright Future is a half brother to multiple graded stakes winner Booth (Mitole ) and grade 1-placed, grade 2 winner Musical Mischief (Into Mischief ). His immediate family produced Housebuster, who was the United States champion sprinter for 1990-91.
