According to a Paulick Report story, trainer Ingrid Mason has been banned from Oaklawn Park for five years and is being investigated by the Horseracing Integrity and Welfare Unit, the enforcement arm of the Horseracing Integrity and Safety Authority.

Mason told the Paulick Report that HIWU investigators at Oaklawn caught her with needles, syringes, and an injectable product called Movex.

"It was my fault," she said. "I don't know why I took a chance with something like that."

A Feb. 6 ruling posted to an Association of Racing Commissions International website that lists recent regulatory actions noted that Mason had been "ejected by Oaklawn Park Security on February 5, 2026. The Oaklawn Park Board of Stewards exclude trainer Ingrid Mason from the grounds of Oaklawn Park until such time that Oaklawn management approves her re-admittance to Oaklawn Park's property. Ms. Mason agreed to waive her right to a Stewards hearing in this matter."

Mason characterized Movex as a joint supplement and told Paulick Report that veterinarians prefer to use more expensive injectable joint supplement brands, whereas she could just order Movex online without a prescription.

"Still, I shouldn't have been using it," she said.

Best known as the trainer of Sarah Sis, who won five graded stakes in 2015-16, Mason sent out horses to a 13-7-13 mark and earnings of $537,252 from 83 starts in 2025.
