The Fasig-Tipton March Digital Sale closed March 18 with 85 horses sold from 100 offered for $3,095,000. The sale averaged $36,411 with a clearance rate of 85%. The median was $15,000. The catalog offered horses of racing age, racing/broodmare prospects, 2-year-olds in training, broodmares (including mares with foals at foot), and short yearlings.

Graded stakes winner R Harper Rose (Hip 7) topped the sale when sold for $400,000 to Chatsworth Stud, based in Australia. Chatsworth also purchased 2024 Eclipse champion female sprinter Soul of an Angel last month on Fasig-Tipton's digital platform. Winner of last year's Forward Gal Stakes (G3), R Harper Rose was also a stakes winner at 2 and earned more than $380,000 on the track. The 4-year-old Florida-bred daughter of Khozan  is one of four winners produced by the Yes It's True mare True Bliss. She was offered as a broodmare prospect by Gainesway, agent.

Top hips sold also included:

  • Laulne (Hip 18), a 4-year-old racing/broodmare prospect by Starspangledbanner, sold for $320,000 to Franklin Finance, Haras d'Etreham, and Madaket Stable. A group stakes winner at 2 in France, Laulne is also a graded-placed stakes winner in the United States. Laulne was offered by ELiTE, agent.
  • Luvwhatyoudo (Hip 2), a full sister to two-time Breeders' Cup winner Golden Pal , sold for $250,000 to Retem Stable. The 3-year-old daughter of the late Uncle Mo is out of the Breeders' Cup-placed graded stakes winner Lady Shipman. The filly was consigned as a broodmare prospect by VanMeter Sales, agent.
  • A yearling colt by Good Magic  (Hip 34), sold for $170,000 to Goodwill Bloodstock from the consignment of Hill 'n' Dale at Xalapa, agent. The bay colt is out of the Street Sense  mare Meta Mu, from the immediate family of champion Henbit and grade 1 winners Queens Court Queen and Mr Purple. Hip 34 was bred in Kentucky by Bloom Racing Stable.
  • A yearling filly by Justify  (Hip 41), sold for $170,000 to DJ Stables from the consignment of Hill 'n' Dale at Xalapa, agent. The bay filly is out of Deliteful Diva, who is a full sister to multiple stakes winner Stage Left and a half sister to champion Midnight Bisou and graded stakes winner Verifying  (also by Justify). Hip 41 was bred in Kentucky by Bloom Racing.

"We're very pleased with the results of the March Digital Sale," said Fasig-Tipton director of digital sales Leif Aaron. "Gross was up 42% from last year's March sale and the median nearly doubled. All segments of the market were well represented with buyers from around the world. It was a solid sale."

Full results are available online.

The next digital sale will be the April Digital Sale, to be held April 3-8. Entries close March 24.
