Dual champion Goodnight Olive successfully delivered her first foal Feb. 10 with a colt by Not This Time born at John Stewart's Resolute Farm.
On his way back to Kentucky following the Feb. 9 Super Bowl in New Orleans, Stewart received word of the foal's birth from farm manager Noel Murphy, who described the colt to Stewart as "massive."
"We have been waiting anxiously for the arrival of Goodnight Olive's first foal," Stewart said. "She didn't disappoint and produced a massive colt."
Stewart purchased Goodnight Olive for $6 million at the 2023 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Fall Mixed Sale just days after her second Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Sprint (G1) victory. Named champion female sprinter in 2022 and 2023, the daughter of Ghostzapper bred by Stonestreet Thoroughbred Holdings and raced by First Row Partners and Team Hanley retired with a record of 9-2-1 from 12 starts for earnings of $2,196,200.
In addition to her pair of Breeders' Cup scores, Goodnight Olive won the Ballerina Handicap (G1) at 4, and the Madison Stakes (G1) and Bed o' Roses Stakes (G2) at 5. She also placed in the Derby City Distaff (G1) and Ballerina at 5.
The colt's sire, Not This Time, stands for a $175,000 fee in 2025 at Taylor Made Stallions near Nicholasville, Ky.
"The team believes this pairing holds immense potential to produce a standout racehorse with an exceptional pedigree," Resolute's breeding director Chelsey Stone said when Goodnight Olive was retired in February 2024.
