In a year that Street Sense 's son McKinzie  owns the position as leading freshman sire by number of grade 1 winners as of Nov. 6, the Darley Stallions resident reached another important milestone by siring his 100th black-type winner worldwide.

Generous Tipper reached the milestone Nov. 3 by winning his first stakes in the Discovery Stakes during the Belmont at the Big A meet at Aqueduct Racetrack. Last year, Generous Tipper came close with a third-place finish in the Breeders' Futurity (G1) at Keeneland.

Walking L Thoroughbreds owns the 3-year-old colt who is trained by Kenny McPeek and has now won three of seven career starts. Jeff and Melissa Prunzik bred Generous Tipper out of the Curlin  stakes winner Stopshoppingdebbie, a half sister to stakes winners and stakes producers Smarty Deb (Smart Strike) and Shampoo (Gulch). Walking L bought the colt for $130,000 as a yearling out of Fasig-Tipton's 2022 The July Sale from the Highgate Sales consignment.

Street Sense, a son of Street Cry, made history as a racehorse by becoming the first Breeders' Cup Juvenile (G1) winner to later win the Kentucky Derby (G1), doing so in 2006-07. As a stallion, he's sired 43 graded/group winners and four champions. His stakes winners include 71 on dirt and all-weather surfaces, 32 on turf, and three that are dual surface stakes winners—Silverette, Hollis, and Cazadero, who won graded stakes on dirt and turf.

Street Sense will stand for $50,000 next year.
