Talk to Ya Later became the first winner for freshman sire Perfect Timber  when the 2-year-old filly broke her maiden Nov. 27 at Woodbine.

By Perfect Soul, grade 1-placed Perfect Timber stands at Colebrook Farms Stallion Station in Ontario, where his 2022 fee is CA$2,500 live foal. Charles Fipke bred both stallions and Talk to Ya Later, a CA$5,000 (US$3,832) purchase by Jim Menzies from the Canadian Thoroughbred Horse Society (Ontario Division)'s 2020 Canadian-Bred Yearling Sale.

Debuting for Piano Bar Racing and trainer Ian Black, Talk to Ya Later broke in from post 7 in a field of 11 and bumped with a rival at the start of a 6 1/2 furlong maiden contest worth CA$65,362. With Emma-Jayne Wilson in the irons, the filly raced sixth as Sacred Dancer showed the way through opening fractions of :22.40 and :44.84. Advancing four wide on the turn, Talk to Ya Later moved into range into the stretch and got by at the forty-yard marker en route to a 1 1/2-length score. The final time on the all-weather track was 1:18.03.

Sacred Dancer held for second, 1 3/4 lengths ahead of Pleasure's Gold in third.

Talk to Ya Later is out of the Sea The Stars mare Sea The Awesome, while her sire is out of the Woodman mare Timber Way.
