Reins of Hope Charity Raises More Than $50,000

The Reins of Hope 2026 online charity auction concluded on July 21 after an extraordinary outpouring of generosity from the horse racing community, raising more than $50,000 to benefit those affected by the June barn fire in Saratoga. Conducted from July 10-21, the online auction featured donated items, experiences, and services contributed by horsemen, farms, businesses, artists, and supporters from across the industry. Bidders from around the country came together with a common goal: helping individuals impacted by the devastating fire begin the recovery process. The fundraiser was organized by Cherie DeVaux, hosted by Purple Haze Standardbred Adoption Program, and administered by Biederman Real Estate and Auctioneers. "The response to Reins of Hope has been nothing short of incredible," said DeVaux. "What began as an effort to help our neighbors in need became a powerful reminder of how this industry comes together in times of hardship. We are deeply grateful to everyone who donated auction items, placed bids, shared the event, and helped make this fundraiser such a tremendous success." Proceeds from the auction will go directly to assist those affected by the June Saratoga barn fire as they continue rebuilding.
