Grade 2 winner and multiple grade 1-placed Keepmeinmind was represented by his first winner as a stallion May 24 when James Politano and Northeast Racing's Ashcroft Lane won the opener at Aqueduct Racetrack.
Taking the field gate-to-wire, the 2-year-old colt put on a show while drawing off to a 9 3/4-length win while defeating five rivals in 1:04.28 for 5 1/2 furlongs. Jockey Dylan Davis was aboard for trainer Robert Falcone Jr.
Ashcroft Lane was bred in New York by Politano and Sequel Stallions New York and is out of the winning Into Mischief mare Dame Time.
Ashcroft Lane already has a leg up on his first crop sire by winning on debut. Keepmeinmind, a son of Laoban, would not break his maiden until his fourth try. However, that maiden win came against graded company at Churchill Downs when he won the 2020 Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes (G2). Prior to that victory, he was runner-up in the Breeders' Futurity (G1) and third in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile (G1), both races held at Keeneland.
Keepmeinmind then targeted the Triple Crown in his 3-year-old campaign, finishing sixth in the Kentucky Derby (G1) and fourth in the Preakness Stakes (G1). He would add graded placings in the Ohio Derby (G3) and Jim Dandy Stakes (G2) before finishing fourth in the Travers Stakes (G1).
Keepmeinmind would close his career with a third in the 2022 Woodward Stakes (G1) at Aqueduct, finishing with a record of 2-3-3 from 14 starts and earnings of $903,237.
Keepmeinmind stands the 2026 season at Whispering Oaks Farm in Louisiana for a $2,000 fee.
