Carson's Run Looks to Return to Form in Fort Marcy

Multiple grade 1 winner Carson's Run looks to return to form in the $200,000 Fort Marcy Stakes (G2T) May 3 at Aqueduct Racetrack. The 4-year-old son of Cupid will take on four opponents in the 1 1/8 mile race for older horses. Carson's Run finished a disappointing fifth in the Hollywood Derby (G1T) behind Formidable Man Nov. 30 at Del Mar. Prior to that, he was seen winning the Jockey Club Derby Invitational Stakes (G3T) and the Saratoga Derby Invitational Stakes (G1T) for owners West Point Thoroughbreds and Steven Bouchey. Dylan Davis will ride for trainer Christophe Clemente who also sends out Deterministic for St. Elias Stable, Ken Langone, Steven Duncker, and Vicarage Stable. Kendrick Carmouche will be in the irons. Repole Stable's Tuscan Sky will give the turf a try for the first time Saturday. He was last seen finishing third to White Abarrio in the Ghostzapper Stakes (G3) at Gulfstream Park. Ricardo Santana Jr. rides for Todd Pletcher. Last year's Fort Marcy winner Master Piece (CHI) will look for a repeat win Saturday. The 9-year-old Chilean-bred ridgling trained by Richard Dutrow Jr. has been winless in four starts since. Eric Cancel has the mount for owners Frank Argano, Julia and Michael Iavarone, and Nicholas Zoumas. Bill Mott sends fellow Chilean-bred Kay Army (CHI) for his first start in the United States. Jose Lezcano will ride the multiple group 1 winner for Ignacio Hurtado and Ignacio Hurtado Jr.
