CNBC Plans Coverage of Kentucky Derby Prep Races
Horse racing's spring fever season is upon us, as the 200-point prep races for the May 3 Kentucky Derby (G1) start this weekend with two on the schedule Saturday, March 22. The Louisiana Derby (G2) at Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots and the Jeff Ruby Steaks (G3) at Turfway Park offer valuable qualifying points for the 151st Kentucky Derby to the top five finishers on a 100-50-25-15-10 scale, and both races drew competitive fields. Both the Louisiana Derby and Jeff Ruby Steaks will be broadcast live on CNBC during a one-hour show as part of NBC Sports' Road to the Kentucky Derby series. The show, which will also stream on Peacock, runs from 6-7 p.m. ET. Both Derby preps also air on FanDuel TV along with undercard races from Fair Grounds and Turfway Park as well as action from Gulfstream Park, Santa Anita Park, Laurel Park, and other tracks.
