FS2, FanDuel TV to Cover Rescheduled Rebel Stakes
Winter weather continues to wreak havoc across North America, and the horse racing calendar is affected again with the rescheduling of a prominent Road to the Kentucky Derby race. The $1.25 million Rebel Stakes (G2) at Oaklawn Park, originally planned to run Saturday, Feb. 22, has been moved along with the rest of Oaklawn's Saturday card to Sunday, Feb. 23. This weekend's other Kentucky Derby points race, the $175,000 John Battaglia Memorial Stakes at Turfway Park, will be held as scheduled on Saturday evening (about 8:55 p.m.). The Rebel Stakes along with other races from Oaklawn, Aqueduct, and Tampa Bay Downs airs on "America's Day at the Races." That program runs on Friday, Feb. 21, Saturday, Feb. 22, and Sunday, Feb. 23, on FOX Sports channels. On Saturday, FOX Sports offers bonus coverage of the $20 million Saudi Cup (G1) at Abdulaziz Racecourse in Riyadh, airing in the morning on FS2. The John Battaglia Memorial Stakes and other races from Turfway are broadcast on FanDuel TV. That network also shows live races from tracks including Gulfstream Park, Santa Anita Park, and Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots as part of its normal daily schedule.
