First Foal by Cistron Arrives at Harris Farms

Harris Farms' grade 1 winner Cistron sired his first reported foal Jan. 30 when a filly out of the Acclamation mare Patriot Missile was born at the farm near Coalinga, Calif. The filly, her dam's first foal, is a fourth generation Harris Farms homebred. Patriot Missile is a half sister to grade 3-placed stakes winner Super Patriot (Unusual Heat). These siblings are out of the Redattore winner Patriot C H, who is out of stakes-placed Lucky C. H. (A.P. Indy), making her a half sister to grade 3 winner Lucky J. H. (Cee's Tizzy). The immediate family also has produced grade 1 winners Subordination, Cacoethes, and Fabulous Notion. Cistron, now a 9-year-old son of The Factor, was a stakes-placed winner at 2 and won his first stakes at 3 in the Northern Spur Stakes. He improved with maturity, capturing the Bing Crosby Stakes (G1) and the Kona Gold Stakes (G2) at 5. He showed his versatility at 6 by capturing the San Simeon Stakes (G3T) on the Santa Anita Park turf. For his career, Cistron won or placed in 13 black-type stakes, including six in graded company. He raced for Hronis Racing, who also partnered with Little Red Feather Racing in 2017, and compiled a 6-7-6 record from 30 starts and earned $768,719. Cistron is standing his second season at Harris Farms for $3,500.
