Grade 1 winner Lexitonian  sired his first reported foal when a filly out of the Oxbow  daughter Vinca was born Jan. 29 at Calumet Farm, which bred the filly. Lexitonian raced as a Calumet homebred and the farm still owns the stallion who stands at Lane's End.

"We've been excited to see the foals for our homebred Lexitonian and are delighted that the first one is born at Calumet," said Eddie Kane, general manager of Calumet. "She has a lot of leg, good bone, and is well balanced. If this is any indicator of what his babies are going to look like, we're going to be off to a great start."

Lexitonian is 7-year-old son of champion sprinter Speightstown . He won on first asking at 2 and became a stakes winner in his second start at 3, winning the Chick Lang Stakes (G3). At 4, he was second by a nose to Collusion Illusion  in the Bing Crosby Stakes (G1), and at 5 landed a grade 1 victory in the Alfred G. Vanderbilt Handicap (G1) at Saratoga Race Course. He also was runner-up in the Churchill Downs Stakes (G1) at 5. He would retire with a 5-2-2 record from 21 starts and earned $718,682.

Vinca is out of grade 3 stakes winner Elusive Diva, who is the dam of two-time Breeders' Cup Sprint (G1) winner Roy H.

Lexitonian stands for an advertised fee of $7,500 in 2023 at Lane's End in Versailles, Ky.
