The first reported foals sired by dual Eclipse champion and classic winner Essential Quality  arrived in Central Kentucky Jan. 21 and Jan. 25, at Castleton Lyons and Taylor Made Farm, respectively.

Born at Castleton Lyons and bred by John McCormack was a colt out of the Broken Vow mare Double Jackpot, who is the dam of multiple grade 1-placed, grade 3 winner Stays in Vegas.

"He's a big, strong, leggy colt with very good bone. A lot of substance about him. Overall, he's very good-looking, and we're very happy to have him," said Pat Hayes, Castleton Lyons' general manager.

Larry Best's OXO Equine bred the filly born at Taylor Made, who is out of Belmont Oaks Invitational Stakes (G1T) winner Concrete Rose. Best bought the mare for $1.95 million at the 2020 Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale.

"She is elegant with plenty of leg. Sired by a champion and out of grade 1 winner Concrete Rose, we are very excited to raise her for Larry Best and OXO Equine," said Alex Kerstetter with Taylor Made Sales.

Essential Quality, by Tapit , won the Breeders' Cup Juvenile (G1) and Breeders' Futurity (G1) during his unbeaten 2-year-old season. At 3, he won the Belmont Stakes (G1) and Travers Stakes (G1). He's the first Breeders' Cup Juvenile winner to later win the Belmont Stakes and the seventh colt to be named a champion at 2 and 3.
