Breeders Seminar at Breakway Farm in Indiana Dec. 10

The seminar will be held at Breakway Farm in Indiana on Dec. 10 at 11 a.m. ET.

Anne M. Eberhardt

Prepare for the impending 2023 foaling and breeding season by learning how you can help prepare your mare for a healthy and successful foaling and breeding season with a free breeders seminar on December 10.

Breakway Farm, LLC, in conjunction with the Indiana Thoroughbred Alliance, invites breeders and owners to attend a foaling and breeding seminar aimed for the mare owner. The seminar, open to owners of all breeds, will be held at Breakway Farm in Dillsboro, Indiana, starting at 11 am EST.

Tony Wolfe, DVM, owner and veterinarian at Wolfe Equine Services, will present a lecture on how mare owners can prepare their mares for breeding season for their best chance to conceive, as well as sharing tips on how to handle emergency situations during foaling season. Wolfe Equine Services is an ambulatory equine veterinarian based out of Petersburg, Kentucky, and serving Indiana and Northern Kentucky farms.

Janice Jordan, owner of Breakway Farm, will share how she and her crew prepare the farm for the grueling foaling and breeding seasons, biosecurity to help prevent the spread of illnesses to young foals and organizing paperwork needed for breed registries. Jordan is a longtime horsewoman, breaking and training Thoroughbreds before starting Breakway Farm in 1995.

Upon the conclusion of the seminar, Breakway Farm invites attendees to tour the farm and meet the stallions standing for the 2023 breeding season during their 2022 Stallion Open House. The eight stallions are registered with the lucrative Indiana Thoroughbred Breed Development Program and are represented by multiple money-earning progeny.

Breakway Farm is home to top Indiana stallions Skylord (Sky Mesa) and Harry's Holiday (Harlan's Holiday), as well as up-and-coming stallions Charming Kitten (Kitten's Joy) and Calculator (In Summation).

Pre-registration is required online. For event updates, follow the Indiana Thoroughbred Alliance and Breakway Farm's social media.
