"He's been a pretty busy boy," co-trainer John Gosden told Daily Racing Form.

Mishriff, one of Europe's top older horses, will not race at the Breeders' Cup next month at Del Mar, co-trainer John Gosden told Daily Racing Form Oct. 21.

Winner of the Juddmonte International Stakes (G1), Longines Dubai Sheema Classic (G1T), and Saudi Cup this year, Mishriff has been one of the most versatile, high-performing horses in the world. But he disappointed in his latest, finishing fourth in the Qipco Champion Stakes (G1) Oct. 16 at Ascot.

Breeders' Cup officials had hoped to attract the horse to either the Longines Breeders' Cup Turf (G1T) or the Longines Breeders' Cup Classic (G1), both Nov. 6.

In a Thursday report in Daily Racing Form, Gosden told Steve Andersen that Mishriff is in need "of a little bit of a rest.

"You need to be 100% happy that you're doing the right thing," Gosden said. "He's been a pretty busy boy."

Gosden indicated Mishriff may stay in training with next year's Breeders' Cup Classic at Keeneland a long-range goal. Owned by Saudi Arabia's Prince Faisal, the 4-year-old son of Make Believe won three of six starts this year for trainers John and Thady Gosden. He is seven-for-14 over his career.

Tarnawa and Domestic Spending are two of the projected favorites for the Breeders' Cup Turf, Knicks Go  and Essential Quality  for the Classic.
