Shedaresthedevil Aimed at Del Mar's Clement Hirsch

After chasing Letruska in the Ogden Phipps Stakes (G1) at Belmont Park June 5, dual grade 1 winner Shedaresthedevil will head west to California for her next start. Co-owner Staton Flurry said the 4-year-old Daredevil filly, currently stabled at Ellis Park in Kentucky, would travel to Del Mar for the Clement L. Hirsch Stakes (G1) Aug. 1. The Clement Hirsch, a 1 1/16-mile dirt race and qualifier for the Longines Breeders' Cup Distaff (G1), could also attract fellow graded winners As Time Goes By and Venetian Harbor. "We circled this race early on since the Breeders' Cup will be run at Del Mar," Flurry said. "We want to get a race over the track, plus we think she will benefit from getting back to two turns. "She's training great at Ellis right now, so she will ship out next Wednesday. Looks like it is shaping up to be a competitive race." Daily Racing Form first reported her next-race plans. The Brad Cox trainee, owned by Qatar Racing, Flurry Racing Stables, and Autry Lowry Jr., has made more than $1.8 million. A third-place finish in the Ogden Phipps was her lone defeat in three starts this year, following earlier victories in the La Troienne Stakes Presented by Twinspires.com (G1) and Azeri Stakes (G2). She won the Longines Kentucky Oaks (G1) last year at age 3.
