Feelthebeat bested 11 maiden rivals on second asking to win the sixth race at Woodbine July 18, giving Ashford Stud's freshman stallion Cupid  his first winner. The 2-year-old colt completed 5 1/2 furlongs on the Tapeta track in 1:04.59 with Sunny Singh in the irons.

Owned by Trinity Racing Stables, Feelthebeat was purchased from Bobby Dodd's consignment the Ocala Breeders' Sales March Sale of 2-Year-Olds in Training for $47,000 before going under tack with trainer Norman McKnight. His first outing was June 4 at Churchill Downs, where he was third in maiden special weight company.

Bred in Florida by Brad Grady and Misty Grady, the colt is out of the Songandaprayer mare Shelby's Song, a winner in her own right and producer of five foals with three to race. Shelby's Song is also dam of a yearling and a May foal, both colts by Girvin .

Cupid entered stud in 2018 at Ashford Stud and stands for $5,000. The 8-year-old son of Tapit  won over $1.7 million, capturing the Gold Cup at Santa Anita Stakes (G1), West Virginia Derby (G2), Indiana Derby (G2), and Rebel Stakes (G2) before retiring to stud duty at the Versailles, Ky., farm.

Another juvenile by Cupid, Parkland Thoroughbreds' filly Hope Over Fear, is entered in her first start at Saratoga Race Course July 22 for trainer Bill Mott in a maiden special weight.
