Grade 1 winner and second-crop sire Java's War sired his first winner May 8 when his 2-year-old son Sold Out won his debut by eight lengths at Camarero Race Track.

Sent off as the second choice in a field of 7, Sold Out tracked the pace before seizing the lead turning for home and drawing away. He clocked the five furlongs on the main track in 1.00.44.

Bred in Kentucky by Charles Fipke, Sold Out is out of the Perfect Soul winner Belle Soul, who is the dam of Peruvian group 1 winner Quinta Nota (by Tale of Ekati ). The colt was sold by Paramount Sales for $18,000 to owner Willie Concepcion at the 2020 Fasig-Tipton October Yearling Sale. Sold Out is trained by Eric Betancourt.

Belle Soul has a yearling full brother to Sold Out. She did not have a foal this year.

Java's War is a Fipke homebred by War Pass who became a stakes winner and grade 1-placed at 2, with a third-place finish in the Dixiana Breeders' Futurity (G1). At 3, he was runner-up in the Tampa Bay Derby (G2) before winning the Toyota Blue Grass Stakes (G1). He retired with a 3-2-1 record from 19 starts and earned $713,807.

Java's War entered stud at Colebrook Farms Stallion Station in 2017 and spent two years standing at Darby Dan Farm near Lexington. He now stands for a private fee at Equiprovet Canada in Brantford, Ont., according to the Canadian Thoroughbred Horse Society.
