Turf-sensation Flintshire sired his first black-type winner April 11 when his son Cheshire Academy was awarded victory in the Prix Noailles (G3) at ParisLongchamp for trainer Jean Claude-Rouget. Second across the post, Cheshire Academy was elevated to first upon the disqualification of Pretty Tiger.

Bred in France by SF Bloodstock, Cheshire Academy is the first foal out of the Sunday Break mare Danza Cavallo. Owned by Peter Brant's White Birch Farm, the 3-year-old colt was purchased by his connections for $85,851 from the consignment of Oceanic Bloodstock to the Arqana Deauville October Yearlings Sale.

A homebred for Juddmonte Farms, Flintshire enjoyed a stellar career all over the world, winning the likes of the Juddmonte Grand Prix de Paris (G1) and the Longines Hong Kong Vase (G1) when trained by André Fabre. He was also twice second in the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (G1).

Switched to the U.S. barn of multiple Eclipse Award-winning trainer Chad Brown in 2016, the son of Dansili banked the Woodford Reserve Manhattan Stakes (G1T) and Sword Dancer Stakes (G1T). He ended his career with a second in the 2016 Longines Breeders' Cup Turf (G1T) at Santa Anita Park

Flintshire retired with an 8-12-1 record from 24 starts and earnings of more than $9.5 million. He stands at Hill 'n' Dale Farms for a fee of $10,000.
