California-Bred Filly First Reported Foal for Om

The first reported foal by grade 1-placed, multiple graded winner Om was born Jan. 18 at Harris Farms near Coalinga, Calif. Bred by Al and Saundra Kirkwood, the chestnut filly is the third foal from the Unusual Heat allowance winner All That Heat, who is a full sister to grade 2 stakes winner Burns and grade 1-placed winner Brushburn. The mare is also a full sister to Inflamed, who is the dam of grade 1 winner and five-time graded stakes winner Mo Forza. A 9-year-old son of Munnings, Om became a winner in his second start, a maiden special weight at Del Mar that he won by 7 1/4 lengths and defeated future Triple Crown winner American Pharoah. At 3, he was tested in graded company six times, coming away the victory three times and placing in the other three. He won the Del Mar Derby (G2T), Twilight Derby (G2T), and Mathis Brothers Mile (G2T), and was third in the Hollywood Derby (G1T). Om was runner-up twice in the Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint (G1T), just missing by a nose to Obviously (IRE) in 2016 and was a fast-closing second to Belvoir Bay (GB) in 2019. He retired with a 7-7-6 record from 32 starts and earned $1,355,082. Om is standing his second season at Harris Farms for $6,000. He is the property of the Sareen Family Trust and Harris Farms.
